Professional Cleanings

Routine Teeth Cleaning

At Pure Dental Spa, we emphasis maintaining good oral hygiene, but over time teeth accumulate plaque, tartar buildup and stains. If bacterial deposits are not professionally removed on a regular basis gingivitis and/or periodontal disease will develop and progress. If left untreated, periodontal disease can lead to tooth loss, as well as other oral and overall health issues. Dr. Patel offers teeth cleanings for children and adults. Pure Dental Spa welcomes families who are seeking general dentistry, regular checkups, and professional teeth cleanings. If you are experiencing bad breath, swollen, tender, or bleeding gums, or teeth that feel loose, it’s important to contact our office at (630) 307-3133 quickly as you may have a more serious condition.

Deep Cleaning

When you visit Pure Dental Spa, Dr. Patel and our trained hygienists will evaluate the current health of your gums. If periodontal disease is detected, it can destroy supporting structures, including the tooth root, soft tissues, and jawbone. In some patients with advanced gum disease, a procedure called scaling and root planing may also be necessary. Commonly referred to as a deep cleaning, scaling and root planing allows Dr. Patel and our oral hygienists to remove the damaging bacterial deposits, and leave a clean tooth and root surface. After a deep cleaning, patients can often maintain gum health through diligent brushing and flossing.
During each visit to Pure Dental Spa, Dr. Patel and our hygienists will discuss the treatment that will be necessary to promote the health of your gums and underlying bone support. If you’re missing a tooth due to past gum disease, Dr. Patel may recommend tooth replacement options, such as crown and bridges, dental implants, or dentures, to give you back that confident smile.

Tooth Fillings

With advancements in modern dentistry you no longer have to worry about unsightly, uncomfortable metal dental fillings. Today’s dental fillings are highly esthetic and virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth. Dr. Patel uses tooth colored dental fillings to achieve the most natural looking and comfortable results for her patients. After a thorough examination, Dr. Patel may select a resin or porcelain dental filling for each unique patient.
If you are experiencing bad breath, swollen, tender, or bleeding gums, or teeth that feel loose, it’s important to contact our office at (630) 307-3133 quickly as you may have a more serious condition.

Resin Dental Fillings

Resin dental fillings are commonly referred to as “white” or “tooth colored” fillings. These are made from a biocompatible composite resin which is applied directly to the tooth. Dr. Patel typically uses resin dental fillings to repair teeth with minor decay or damage. Resin dental fillings are made to match your natural tooth structure making so that they are undetectable to the naked eye. These “white” dental fillings offer excellent long term protection for teeth that are weak or damaged.

Porcelain Dental Fillings

Porcelain dental fillings also known as dental inlays or dental onlays are used to repair teeth with more significant decay or damage. The porcelain dental fillings add additional strength to the tooth and are extremely long lasting.

Replacing Metal Dental Fillings or Missing Dental Fillings

You may choose to have old amalgam, commonly known as “metal fillings” replaced by Dr. Patel. Whether your reasons are cosmetic, health or comfort concerns, metal dental fillings can easily be removed and replaced with more esthetic tooth colored ones. If you have lost or have a broken dental filling, Pure Dental Spa can help, but it is important to contact our office as quickly as possible. Dr. Patel makes it a priority to treat dental emergencies urgently. Please contact our office at (630) 307- 3133 as soon as you can to schedule emergency treatment.

Tooth Sealants

Tooth sealants are an excellent way to prevent cavities. Sealants are thin plastic coating that is applied to the chewing surface of your molars and other deep grooves in your teeth. More than 75 percent of decay occurs in these areas because they can be difficult to clean. Sealants make the surface of your molars smooth and easy to clean. The application process only takes a few minutes per tooth, and can be done at your next visit to Pure Dental Spa. Sealants are considered beneficial for children as well as adults. Ask about sealants during your visit to the Bloomingdale & West Loop offices.
